Universal Plug and Play (UPnP)
UPnP networking technology provides automatic IP configuration and
dynamic discovery of devices added to a network.
Services and capabilities offered by network devices, such as printing and
file sharing, can be made available to those connected to the network
without bothersome configuration.
With UPnP capability in D-Link IP Camera, the IP camera will be able to
work immediately once it is plugged in to the network with basic pre-
configuration of device.
D-Link IP Camera by default provides basic IP configuration, user
administrator name and password to first login to the device setup page,
etc.

IP Address Assignment
DHCP
• D-Link IP camera supports DHCP. When the DHCP option is chosen, D-Link IP
Cameras can be set to receive dynamic IP addresses from the DHCP server.
Static IP Client (Manual IP address assignment)
• When this option is chosen, the administrator will have to manually configure the
IP address and other related parameters, such as subnet mask, default gateway,
primary and secondary DNS, to assign them to the IP Camera.
