Summary
Ethernet is the most widely used physical and link layer protocol. Fast
Ethernet provides transmit rate up to 100 Mbps and Gigabit Ethernet
provides transmit rate up to 1 Gbps.
Power over Ethernet provides the capability of delivering electrical power
over the same network cable of a device for sending data traffic.
Streaming is the ability of viewing multimedia data while it is being delivered
by a streaming provider. There are three types of streaming technology:
RTP, RTCP, and RTSP.
In general, D-Link IP Cameras support UPnP feature that provides
automatic IP configuration and dynamic discovery of devices when added to
a network so that it can work immediately.
PPPoE is a layer 2 protocol often used for connecting to the Internet using
ADSL services. This protocol should be configured in the IP Camera.
Dynamic DNS (Domain Name Service) is a feature where a device with
dynamic IP address can have its DNS hosted.
